SCALLION
▲ CLIMBLEGAL · UPDATED 21 OCTOBER 2026
scallion and krillion
Scallion is an independent fan project. It was inspired by Krillion, the daily game where rarer answers score more, and borrows that idea with an Asian spin: its own prompts, answer banks, tiers, artwork and code.
Scallion is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or otherwise connected to Krillion or its creators. “Krillion” and any related names and marks belong to their respective owners and are mentioned here only to describe where the idea came from. If you are behind Krillion and have a concern, write to hello@scallion.io and it will be taken seriously.
terms of play
Scallion is free, provided as is, for fun. There is no warranty that it works, that a call is fair, or that scores and standings are accurate, and to the extent the law allows, nobody behind Scallion is liable for anything arising from playing it.
Play nicely: no automating answers, flooding the servers, or probing for ways to break things. Keep nicknames, suggestions and feedback free of anything hateful, harassing or unlawful. Climbs, rooms and notes that break this can be removed without notice.
When you send a suggestion or a “bad call?” report, you let Scallion use it to improve the game, including turning a suggested prompt into a future climb, without payment or credit. These terms can change; the date at the bottom says when they last did.
the scallion pass
The daily climb is free. The Scallion Pass is a one-time S$2.67 purchase that unlocks unlimited climbs beyond the first 3, archive days older than 7 days, and hosting party rooms (joining one is always free). It is not a subscription and never renews.
Payment is handled by Stripe; Scallion never sees your card details. A pass works on up to 5 devices with its restore code, and is tied to the code, not to an account. It lasts as long as Scallion runs. A pass bought with a payment that is refunded or disputed stops working.
Something wrong with a purchase? Write to hello@scallion.io with your receipt.
what scallion keeps
There are no accounts, ads or tracking cookies. Here is everything that is stored:
- On your device: a random player ID, your climbs, streaks, best scores, recipe book and sound setting, in your browser's local storage. Clearing site data erases them.
- On Scallion's server: your answers (counted per prompt to work out rarity), your final scores (for the “higher than” standings), and any feedback or suggestions you send, each tied to the random player ID, not to your name or email. Challenge links keep the nickname you type and your answers for 30 days; party rooms, for 4 hours.
- If you buy the pass: Stripe processes the payment and keeps its own records under Stripe's privacy policy. Scallion keeps only the pass code, Stripe's checkout ID, and the player IDs of the devices using the pass.
- The answer judge: when the bank doesn't know an answer, the prompt and the answer text (never your player ID) are sent to an AI judging service (typesafe.ai) to decide whether it counts. Its verdict is saved so the next climber gets the same call.
- Hosting: Scallion runs on Vercel and stores data with Upstash. Like any website, requests pass through their servers and logs, which can include your IP address. To stop one connection flooding the judge or the feedback queue, Scallion counts requests per day against a one-way hash of your IP address. The raw address is never stored, and the counts expire after two days.
Want your server-side data deleted? Send your player ID (or the nickname and challenge link) to hello@scallion.io. This device hasn't played yet, so there is nothing of yours on the server.
